I’m a licensed pediatric psychologist with specialty training in kids and teens dealing with anxiety, OCD, panic, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (like hair pulling or skin picking). I can also help with sleep problems, anger, trauma, and difficulties with habits and routines. While my specialty is with kids and teens, I am also skilled at helping college students and adults with similar challenges.
My goal is to make therapy practical, useful, and enjoyable, and I’m very easy going. We’ll spend time understanding your situation, decide what you or your child would like to change, and learn strategies to get those changes happening.
When I work with kids and teens, I see caregivers as an important part of the team. What that will look like depends on your child’s age and what brings your family here. With younger children, I find it is helpful to spend more time with parents because they can coach their kids in practicing skills at home. As teenagers near adulthood, therapy becomes more independent, and parents stay involved when desired or their support is helpful. We’ll talk about what makes the most sense for your family rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
During the day, I work at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Population Health Sciences. I research pediatric behavior medicine and ways to make behavioral healthcare more accessible for families. I maintain this private practice after school hours because I genuinely enjoy getting to know families and helping them navigate challenges in life.
I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT, and I love spending time in the mountains. When I’m not working, you can find me golfing, hiking, running, wakeboarding, or skiing.
